Publication Ethics

The Journal of Nursing Advances in Clinical Sciences upholds the ethical standards outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) regarding the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly work in medical journals. The Editorial Board is empowered to take disciplinary measures against individuals responsible for deliberate misconduct, as described below.

Research Misconduct Definition

Research misconduct is defined based on terms outlined by the US Office of Research Integrity:

  1. Fabrication entails inventing information and subsequently documenting or revealing it.
  2. Falsification involves altering or excluding data or outcomes, leading to an inaccurate representation in the research record, often through manipulation of research tools, equipment, or methodologies.
  3. Plagiarism denotes the unwarranted appropriation of another person's thoughts, methods, findings, or language.
  4. Honest errors or differences in viewpoints do not constitute research misconduct.
